Pollen:

Everything is in bloom and many of your allergy-prone friends will confirm, it's allergy season. Carpets and upholstery act as filters for the air in your home. When you open the windows, you're allowing pollen to get trapped in your home. It can also get tracked in on shoes, clothes, and pets!

Dust Mites:

These microscopic insect-like animals live in your carpets and on your upholstery. They live on a diet of dead skin cells, shed by you, your family and pets! Dust mites themselves are harmless to humans and without microscopes, we wouldn't know they exist. However, because dead skin cells are so tough to digest, dust mites have a strong enzyme in their gut. This enzyme causes unpleasant allergy and asthma symptoms when inhaled.

Pet Dander:

The common misconception about pet dander is that it comes from your pet’s fur. However, it comes from a protein in the skin cells, urine, and feces of your pet. This means that there aren’t any “hypoallergenic pets”, but there are pet breeds that have less of this protein in their skin. People have also reported that their allergy symptoms are worse with cats than dogs.

No matter the allergen, it can get trapped in your carpets and upholstery. Call Columbus Chem-Dry of to help you remove ground-in dirt and dust! We remove 98% of allergens and 89% of airborne allergens from your home.
